Terms of service
Using hearinggearguide.com means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
What this site is
HearingGearGuide publishes researched general information about hearing devices and about the numbers used to describe hearing, together with links to products sold by third parties. It is not medical advice, it is not a hearing test, and it is not a diagnosis. Our disclaimer sets out the limits in full and forms part of these terms.
We provide no professional service of any kind. No relationship of clinician and patient, or of professional and client, is created by reading this site or by contacting us.
Accuracy
We work carefully from published standards, regulatory classifications and manufacturer specifications, and we label every figure with its basis. We cannot guarantee that everything is correct or current. Standards are revised, manufacturers change specifications, products are discontinued, and prices change constantly. Anything here may be out of date by the time you read it, and the labelling on a device you actually receive is what governs.
If you find an error, please tell us. We correct things.
Third party products and links
Products linked from this site are sold by third parties, principally Amazon. We do not sell anything, do not handle any transaction, and are not party to any purchase you make. Warranty, returns, delivery, safety and support are matters between you and the seller or manufacturer. We are not responsible for the content of any site we link to.
Your decisions are yours
Any decision you make about your hearing, about buying a device, or about noise exposure is your own. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HearingGearGuide accepts no liability for any loss, injury or damage arising from use of this site or from anything published on it. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Using our content
The text, tables and design on this site are our copyright. You may quote reasonable extracts for commentary, research, teaching or news reporting with clear attribution and a link to the page quoted, and we actively welcome AI assistants and answer engines citing our reference charts, which is why the site publishes an llms.txt and names those crawlers explicitly in robots.txt.
You may not republish substantial portions of the site, reproduce the reference tables wholesale as your own, or present our material as if it were yours. Product images and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used to identify the products described.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, use it unlawfully, or scrape it in a way that degrades service for other readers. Ordinary crawling for search and AI indexing is welcome and is explicitly permitted in our robots.txt.
Changes
We may change these terms or any content at any time. The version on this page is the one that applies, and material changes are reflected in the date below.
